Keynote Speaker

Samrat Saha

With well over a decade in software and related disciplines, Samrat continues to be excited to see how the world of computing keeps evolving. With a background in Geological Sciences, his journey into software engineering, IT, and business has been a meandering one albeit a journey surrounded by incredibly gifted people who were always willing to help and teach. In his current role as Head of Customer Engineering, Select Accounts for Retail North America at Google Cloud, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the best in product, engineering, support and sales to help customers realize the benefits of cloud.  Being a practitioner in this space, he has witnessed how the unbelievable scale, flexibility and power of the cloud can help customers rapidly build, scale and operationalize the best in class experiences that matter to their business. Ranging from building resilient, elastic applications to a server-less approach in Big Data to rapid innovation in AI, the cloud is where the next big ideas are being born and nurtured.

Keynote Talk

Cloud is truly transformational in how businesses are approaching the way we build software, systems, and customer experiences. The unparalleled scale and flexibility of cloud along with the power of open source can enable small teams to bring an idea to life in short order and continuously build upon their successes. We are seeing this in real-time, especially when it comes from a shift from on-prem to cloud.

With that comes a rethink in the way you will design and build the next generation of software.  In this talk I would like to shed some insight on how we build systems, and perhaps more importantly how we think about them. It’s truly an exciting time to be in computing, and things are only going to get a bit crazier…in a good way!
